You are entitled to free, confidential services from any NHS professional. All health services are available to young people over 12, including sexual health services and contraception. You are also allowed to get condoms at any age.
Staff will not tell anyone information about you unless:
• they think you can't understand or make choices about your own care
• if they think you or another young person is at risk of harm
They will always talk to you before any information is shared with others.
Professionals are there to help young people, and make sure that they are safe.
The health worker will ask you if you had sex before you were 13 years of age. If you say yes to this question then it will be discussed further, legally anyone under the age of 13 years cannot consent to sex and this is taken very seriously.
